It´s true, it is like my mission has been changed to Brasil Mission House.
I have been here almost 3 weeks now and proseltyed 2 days or so…
So I got to go and ” Find prepared people” as we call it ” encontrar preparado pessoas”
That means we walked around and talked to everyone we met, I am currently in the city of Pinhais which is a intersting place, the amount of stray dogs around has my heart breaking so much.
i got the opportunity to really see how the gift of toungues is being used in my life. I helped teach a lesson in French ( i took in 7th and 8th grade) in which i knew what was happening and could communicate, since my splits partner ( my trainer is sick) Sister Del Castillo only speaks portuguese and spanish. That was super cool! but kinda scary at the same time cause we taught them behind a bar where there were tons of drunks so the lesson was really just like, yo you got baptized today and tomorrow is your comfirmation are you ready for the best gift ever?
After that we clapped some doors and got yelled at a couple of times, one of the doors we clapped on a guy came out and tried to kiss Sister Del Castillo. Yeah we kinda ran.
We talked to this guy on a street corner who was just kinda watching us as we clapped doors, so as we went over there and introducded ourselves in Portuguese he simple stated ” I don´t speak portuguese” in English. me being me said ” that´s ok i speak English”
at this point i realized i have no clue what I am doing in portuguese or in english…
I talked to him and got his number since he couldn´t go to church due to having to talk to someone downtown in curitiba which would take the whole day.
That´s right, I preached the Gospel in three languages saturday. Most of the time it was broken and incomplete but I did it thorugh the Lord´s hand.
We got a new Mission President from Utah, the factory really, and he is doing mission conferences in mini groups on Wednesday (for our area) and Tuesday I get to go to the temple! This is normally unheard of until a year into your mission, benefits of having a trainer who is on her final transfer 🙂
